happy birthday, sister

As mentioned, last Thursday was my big sisters birthday! She rocks, I mean really rocks. Everything she does, she does it big (rap song pun, absolutely intended). She has the most selfless heart and love for others. She makes everything special and I am beyond blessed to have her as my best friend. Deacon has no idea how lucky he is to have her as a mom! I just love her so!

Flattering, early morning, no make-up vacation picture :)
She would kill me, but it's festive!

I got her this precious dress and belt from the GAP, as well as some other goodies!
I almost wore it and kept the tags on it before giving it to her, but I refrained.
Now that it has been given, all bets are off!

How darling is this paper from Homegoods? I think I am going to go back and buy every roll. On a related note, I want y'all to know I worked really hard on that bow! So, there is this precious gift store in Lexington called Peggy's. It is great for a million reasons, but among my favorites things about the store is how cutely they wrap your gifts! They whip up these bows with their special ribbon (which I knew they also will sell you) and they make it look so easy. I have been studying them. So, after finding the wrapping paper I thought, I have to go to Peggy's get some of that magic ribbon and I can do a little tutorial on this bow magic secret. No problem at all, they will think I am a gift wrapping genius. Wrong. This is the best I could muster up after working the entire 3 hour drive home! Most people wrap presents in the car, right? I am even fooling you all here because Instagramed made it look better than it actually did. This is not a Peggy's worthy bow, she would be ashamed ;) I am going to go ask her to teach me and then I will give you all the true secrets!

The bow making, car ride dialogue went just like this.....

Sigh.
He is such a good sport, don't you know he wishes he could mute me
sometimes a lot? He just truly had no bow tying advice to offer me!

Am I the only one who persistently asks the boy in their life about things
you KNOW they have no knowledge about? I mean, I know he doesn't know how
to tie a bow, but if he was tying a bow, how would he do it?
That is all I want to know!

Happy Belated Birthday Lins!
You rock our world, and I literally would not have
survived life thus far without you :)
