Weekends go by way too fast, don't they? I spent the weekend at home and I was certainly not ready for it to end. Chase and I drove in from Lexington on Friday evening just as quickly as we could! Saturday morning, Lindsey made homemade doughnuts- amazing!
Homemade Doughnuts
Grands Biscuits
Vegetable Oil
Powdered Sugar
She says you place the oil in a pan on the stove and heat to 270 degrees.
(She used a kitchen thermometer to test the temperature!) She then cut a hole
out of the center of the biscuit using a bottle cap (so it looks like a doughnut)!
Then she placed the biscuit in the oil and left in for only a minute-ish on each
side! Lastly, she sprinkled powdered sugar on them and they were to-die-for!
Three ingredients + three minutes = my kind of cooking!
That afternoon the girls and Deacon did a little shopping and brought home pizza to eat with the boys. My dad had informed us you could see three planets by the moon Saturday night? Lindsey dug in the attic to find her telescope from when she was little and Derek (my brother-in-law) set it up so we could see them better! I don't know what was better that a) my sister ever asked for a telescope for Christmas or b) we spent the Saturday evening star-gazing?
Sunday after church, my dad got a call from a family he had recently built a house for. They told him that they had brand new baby goats and thought Deacon might like to come and see them! Of course we he did! They had us at baby, we love anything with that prefix!
Could his outfit be anymore perfect?
The man even got one of the babies out for him to see. He was SO excited! He is also really into giving "neck hugs" and he just loved on that little goat! He will make the best big brother one day :)
If he asked me for a goat (or a whole farm) I could not deny him!
As for the Oscars, I didn't really watch :( I am just not into award shows! I would rather just read about it in my Us Weekly or let Joan Rivers fill me in on Fashion Police. Sad, but true!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! Back to reality!
