My sister and I share the same philosophy that someone's birthday is the one day out of the year that the day is all theirs, and we believe it should be properly celebrated! My mom recently turned 50 and we planned a surprise dinner at one our favorite restaurants. Since it was at a restaurant, our decorating craziness was limited. We decided to just focus on a little favor to send home with her friends. Both to show our appreciation for them joining us, and to practically decorate the table.
After seeing this on pinterest, I just could not get my mind off these sweet bottles! I went in search of similar bottles and ended up with these from Hobby Lobby.
I had to get the larger version because my HL did not have this size. They were a little large, but were 50% off so I couldn't complain. Had I seen this pin of genius earlier, I would have trekked to IKEA for these because they are truly more perfect and I wouldn't have had to worry with corks. I think they also come in smaller sizes.
Then I just had to pick up corks! I used this recipe (Paula Dean, of course!) and I juiced my little heart out! The recipe is so simple and besides the lemons, I had everything I needed. It received great reviews online and from our guests. It's more lemon shake-up-ish than Country Time.
Finally, I just tried to recreate that cute label. I purchased clear sticker sheets and created the label in Microsoft Word with a simple auto-shaped circle and text box. The colors appeared a lot fainter on the label than they do here because the sticker paper was more like vellum, than a true clear sticker.

Here are my finished product!
(I instagramed so you can see a little better, I apologize for the iphone picture!)
So cheap, so easy! The possibilities are endless as to what you could put inside the bottles. I think they are fun and could be used for any kind of party!Happy Thursday!
