I don't know how December 1st gifts really started. I don't know if my sister and our bonus sister Jill started this tradition or if this was something Jill's family always did. Either way it truly is brilliant. Essentially you gift something that they can enjoy all month. For instance, I am giving Jackson and Amelia Elf on the Shelf Activity books and Deacon a Christmas Mr. Potato Head and this book. (Obviously all was bought on clearance after Christmas last year.) These things are all meant to be used and played with during December so they are December 1st gifts!
Wrapping is my second favorite thing to buying. I added some sparklers because for some reason I feel like these are a prized commodity and always save some from July 4th to save for winter. Because in my mind sparklers are more fun when you can't really have them. Or maybe you can? Maybe you can buy sparklers anytime of the year, if so don't crush my spirit.
The nice man at Home Depot gave me as must brown craft paper as I wanted and I made these tags in Word.
There's still time to start December 1st traditions :)
